An update on suspicions about Puka noted on 15 Feb after a quick trip to Melbourne. A few sightings in the Botanic Gardens of full, mature specimens but with many big leaves singed by exposure to full sun under hotter drier conditions than a Puka would ever get in NZ. But from the steamy conditions of the tropical glasshouse, a pretty pic of Cochliostema – a collector's plant not common enough to have a common name.

Fast plant facts

Simone, Warwick QLD
I collect manure from a sheep property. I shovel out what I need from under the shearing shed. Soak in watering can for excellent fertiliser.

Palmetto

Palmetto Soft Leaf Buffalo is ideally suited as a lawn in many applications.
