Over-doing it a bit – I know – but just one more low, creeping banksia: Banksia blechnifolia. Also adapted to dry West Australian conditions, it's another ground-hugger that can spill over the edge of planters, rocks or embankments. Its leaves are much more incised than Banksia petiolaris like a fishbone fern. And the velour patterns of the immature flower spikes are just so retro.
