The 'discolor' part of this Peruvian sage's name means two colours and applies to the contrast of the near-black purple flowers inside the pale green calyces as much as to the dark leaves with silvery trims, undersides and stems. All pretty chic but for the insects fixed to its sticky young stems. Its loose habit suggests a mass planting so it spreads and falls into itself. Not much seen but available from salviaspecialist.com I notice.
