steel wool plant | artemisia armeniaca

I came across this again in Melbourne having just first seen it like a knot of steel wool in the garden of a large property outside Cowra recently. Recognisable as a wormwood, but which? The owner didn't know. I take one sighting as a coincidence and two as a trend but there's not much information out there on what turns out to be Artemisia armeniaca. Not in English. A Spanish reference says it's an alpine from the Caucasus and surrounds with one small population in Spain. It was looking a bit patchy in a dry, airy, well-drained location under Melbourne's non-alpine conditions but my memory is that it was doing better in Cowra.

Get chooks! Have fruit trees in the chicken yard. Chickens deal with pests, dropped fruit, providing eggs and manure. They even eat the weeds too!

Palmetto

Palmetto Soft Leaf Buffalo is ideally suited as a lawn in many applications.
